Wardle In Bloom
Best Kept Garden Competition
We are an independent group of Wardle residents who are interested in local matters. Every month we meet to discuss issues affecting the village - like footpaths, planning applications and facilities for people in the area.
We try to come up with suggestions and projects which will improve life in Wardle.
Wardle Society has been going for 14 years now and has initiated many projects.

With the help of many people in the area we saved the library from closure in 1990.
We organised a commemorative wood at Watergrove. This is now full, with hundredes of trees and spring bulbs.
We rediscovered the village green.
Have had hanging baskets placed in the village.
Some members walk footpaths to check they are passable and haven't been moved.
We regularly ask for the clearance of the main paths used by children going to school.
Money for new footpath signs was provided after we publicised how many were missing.
We work with the Council to maintain the Conservation Area, and our own special heritage, of stone walls, lanes and village environment.

If you agree with what we do and would like to support us, in whatever way you can, your presence at our meetings will be very welcome.
